Configuring Automatic Archiving

Note: This feature is available only to administrators.

When you add or acquire a new revision of an existing product in your product list, the old revision is automatically archived and (optionally) its indexed data copied to the new revision. This is DolphinRTK's automatic archiving feature.

When you configure automatic archiving, you select which (if any) of the following indexed data is automatically copied from an outdated product revision to a newer revision:

You can also select whether MSDS formats are a factor in whether a new product causes an automatic archive. You can select one of the following options:

To configure automatic archiving:

Starting at the Administration page (How do I get there?), do the following:

  1. Under System Preferences, click Auto Archive.

    The Automatic Archiving page opens, showing the available automatic archiving options.

  2. Under Indexed Data to Roll, select each data type you want automatically copied ("rolled") from an outdated product to its new revision.

  3. Select whether MSDS formats are a factor in automatic archiving:

  4. Click Save in the lower right.

    Your new configuration is saved. The selected options now apply when any user in your system:
